Doctor Who: The End of the World
so what do I think of the second episode of Doctor Who then?

Well, it was much funnier than I thought it would be - I loved the fact that people of the future think that Britney Spears is an suitable soundtrack for watching the end of the world. A nice fluffy episode all round, so I wasn't expecting such great dollops of emotion such as the Doctor crying when we first discover that Gallifrey has been destroyed. It's obviously affected the poor soul, have we ever seen him so cold-hearted (or should that be cold-heartsed) when faced with his opponent's death. He could have stepped him but instead watches the villain die with a sneer on his face. Not the Time Lord of old then.
Liked this much more than episode one but have a suspicion that next weeks will be even better. Doctor Who works so damn well in period drama and from the trailer it looks so damned creepy.
Roll on The Unquiet Dead!

I enjoyed it too. The revelations about Gallifrey were unexpected and open up some interesting possibilities. It'll be fascinating to see how they pan out.
Going against the grain of geeky fandom, I thought that the Britney Spears bit was hilarious :D
